Abstract

This article aims to find out how the Sufi struggle against tyranny, especially in Ratib Samman as a cultural movement effort in the 19th century. In the author's opinion, this title is interesting because, as is already known, Sufism in the archipelago has been developing for a long time and has colored more varied patterns of religious thought. There are religious styles that are extrinsic and there are also those that are intrinsic. What is meant by an extrinsic religious style is viewing religion as something that can be utilized or can be said to be only external. Meanwhile, intrinsic religious style is a way of religion that incorporates within itself the values of religious teachings. This research is research based on library research. The Ratib Samman manuscript is a prose text but has poetry and is a religious text that is considered sacred. The contents of Ratib Samman regarding Wahdatul Wujud Sufism, namely about the unity of humans with God, will show how capable humans are in the field of spirit. Researchers will explain more comprehensively about Ratib Saman as a cultural movement and resistance to tyranny in the following discussion.
