Tawlif falsafat ibn Miskawaih fi al-tarbiat walmanahij almustaqilat fi Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Batahan

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to find common ground between classical Islamic thought and modern education policy in Indonesia. The research questions include: (1) what are the basic concepts of Ibn Miskawaih's educational philosophy; (2) how the Independent Curriculum is implemented at Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Batahan; and (3) how the conceptual synthesis between the two can be achieved in the context of madrasah education. This research uses a qualitative approach with philosophical methods, through a textual review of Ibn Miskawaih's works as well as observations and interviews regarding the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Batahan. The results show that Ibn Miskawaih's thoughts on the purification of the soul, the development of reason, and the formation of morals are strongly relevant to the principles of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasize independent learning, character, and moral virtue. At Madrasah Aliyah Nahdlatul Ulama Batahan, this synthesis is evident in project-based learning that harmoniously integrates spiritual, intellectual, and social values. This study concludes that the integration of Ibn Miskawaih's educational values can enrich the practice of the Independent Curriculum by providing a balance between intellectual freedom and moral excellence.
